Is Counting Cards Practical for the Average Gambler?

Therefore, would it practical for the average gambler to count cards? If the average gambler is a genius, and counting cards is child’s play, then it would be practical to count cards. However, the average gambler is more or less an average Joe. Therefore, in order to become proficient in counting cards, he must spend a lot of his time practicing and learning the skill. Moreover, in most, if not all, gambling places, prohibit counting cards. Therefore, not only must the gambler learn to be proficient in counting cards, but he must also learn to count cards without being caught. This skill is difficult to develop. The average gambler, who gambles for enjoyment, will need to invest most of his time in acquiring this skill. However, since the average gambler merely gambles for enjoyment, and not for monetary gain, he cannot invest most of his time in acquiring this specific skill. Since the average gambler gambles for enjoyment, he should just enjoy the game, and not worry about the outcome. Whether win or lose, the average gambler enjoys gambling because of the risks and chances in the game. If he learns to count cards, the enjoyment he derives from the game will disappear. In conclusion, it is not practical for the average gambler to count cards.
